*What inspired her to start a tv program?
Ms. DuBois was inspired to start a Sign Language TV Show after helping survivors of Hurricane Katrina. The Deaf she met, were unable to understand captioning on mainstream news and didn't understand the storm was coming. She realized those who communicated in ASL needed equal access to the hearing world, so she started her first TV Show, "Equal Access Sign Language TV."
*Where did she learn sign language/why?
Ms. DuBois learned ASL in NYC, at the request of a Deaf woman who began attending her church and was unable to fully understand the service.
*What is her mission?
Her mission is to ensure the D/HH and their families have equal access to mainstream products, services, people and amenities and to celebrate Deaf Culture with the hearing world.
*What is her perspective with the lack of deaf/hoh actors any advice on how to be more visual?
Actors need opportunities and exposure. Ms. DuBois' Deaf Welcome Talent Division is training D/HH and signing talent for Sign Language TV, video & film.

Ms. DuBois is, currently, on the road, promoting the launch our charity's gift to the Deaf community -- the nation's first Sign Language TV Channel!
We're calling our channel the ILY Television Network because it is completed supported by the donations of those who LOVE the D/HH and believe they deserve information, entertainment and inspiration in Sign Language.
